About Me

From Classroom to Coaching

I have stepped away from over 20 years of primary school teaching in order to focus on Parent Support Coaching. As a parent myself, I understand the unique joys and challenges this journey brings. I have extensive experience of working with children (mostly KS2) and the primary curriculum along with hundreds of hours of parent/teacher meetings and 1:1 support times, to inform my coaching practice.

I have seen enough ‘eye rolling’ and heard enough ‘what they need is…’ from all directions to know that parents need

  • Supportnot judgement
  • Wisdom not wishful thinking
  • And they do NOT need someone telling them how to parent their own kids!

Crucially, when you work with me, our focus isn’t on ‘fixing’ your child; it’s entirely on supporting you, the parent.

About Claire Fairlie at Kaleidoscope coaching

When we start from a place of wanting the best for our families, we naturally include the whole family in our vision and decision-making. Supporting the parent creates a powerful ripple effect: partner, siblings, wider family, and friends all benefit. It’s important to me that, as parents, we realise the pivotal example we set for our children; a parent who looks after themselves sends a great message to their child.

My commitment to supporting families extends beyond the classroom. During my last two years of teaching, I intensively trained as a Life Coach, completing a Level 5 Diploma and becoming a registered NLP Practitioner. These qualifications, combined with my dedication to professional accountability, are crucial to my practice. I’m a proud member of the Association for Coaching UK and ensure I stay current with best practices through regular monthly supervision.

Kaleidoscope Photo

I hope this snapshot of who I am resonates with you and highlights my passion for the transformational work of coaching. I will meet you (emotionally, and sometimes geographically!) exactly where you are, facilitating a process of review, consideration, and decision that is entirely yours to own, change, and adapt. My focus is on moving you forwards, past obstacles, and helping you recognise that sometimes our choices are hiding in plain sight – revealed by a simple shift in focus. Supported, confidentially and with wisdom, by me, every step of the way.

Hence the kaleidoscope: one small shift to create a whole new image.
